What is Candida? It is not pleasant , for one thing .  Candida refers to a fungal infection that can develop throughout the human body , including, most commonly ,  the mouth , intestines, and the female vagina .

Recognizing Candida symptoms can be quite simple if you are familiar with what to watch out for. Recognizing them sooner rather than later is best .

Thrush, or Candida of the mouth, usually occurs in children or in those with compromised immune systems .  The tell-tale symptom associated with thrush is when you see white patches coating the inside of their mouth.  These patches can show up on the tongue, gums, lips, roof of the mouth or inside of cheeks.

After you or your child have been diagnosed with thrush , you will find it is curable with a round of anti-fungal medications.

Candida symptoms that occur in the genital areas if you have an infection there include itching that may also be accompanied by burning , tenderness , pain during urination or intercourse, and a thick, white vaginal discharge .

You can remedy a yeast infection, or Candida overgrowth in the vaginal area , with over the counter medication .  If you are not sure if you are infected , or if over the counter remedies do not seem to be helping , make sure you consult with your physician because the Candida infection could possibly lead you to a very alarming infection such as vaginitis.  Even though it can be treated , it is very painful .

You can also get Candida on the skin or internally and can lead to more serious diseases and side effects like IBS , endometriosis, fibromyalgia and many others. Others include mental deficiencies and diseases like alcoholism, which actually makes Candida worse .  It’s important for you to recognize the symptoms of Candida as soon as possible in order to prevent side effects .

Most frequently seen symptoms include, but are not limited to:

  • Regular headaches or migraines
  • Irregular abdominal gas or bloating
  • Incredible fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Intestinal difficulties
  • Out of the ordinary cravings for sweets or alcohol
  • Itching, acne, eczema or other unusual skin inflammations
  • Sinus problems , persistent cough , sore throat, earaches or chronic pain

This list is not inclusive but if you experience more than one of these symptoms , you should seek the opinion of a doctor immediately , just to be safe .  Catching the symptoms of Candida early could prevent you from develping serious side effects later on.
